Draw Top LayerThis is a featured page

Draw Top Layer: Draw top layer is a choice for drawing in Toon Boom where overlapping brush or pencil strokes combine, eliminating duplicate or unneeded vector points.

The default drawing mode in Toon Boom creates each pencil or brush stroke as a separate object. This is beneficial if you want to be able to edit these individual strokes. A single stroke can be scaled, rotated, change color, or any other drawing edit you might need.

Selecting a group of separate stroke objects can be done to edit them together. You can also use the flatten command to combine a group of strokes into a separate object. This will join overlapping areas and reduce the number of vector points, creating one object where there were many.

The user may switch between these two modes using the Tools menu. However, the mode you select remains active when you exit and restart Toon Boom Studio. See also object drawing model and inking.
