Pencil tool The pencil tool is one of the two tools which are used to do free hand drawing. The main difference in between the pencil and the
brush tool is that the

pencil tool line thickness is constant (always the same) where the
brush tool line thickness may vary depending on the pressure that you apply to your pen stroke. Another big difference between the pencil and the brush is the fact that the line of the pencil is defined by one center line rather then the outline of the varying thickness of the stroke of the brush shape. This makes the line easier to modify since you can pull one point to change the flow of the line without affecting it's thickness or overall shape.
The width of the pencil is defined by the Maximum Size value of the selected pen as set on the Pen tab of the
Properties Window.
