motion guide: Motion guides are plotted curves used to direct motion in the production of animated content. In photographic animation motion guides were complex curved charts plotted on paper and used to position the guide needle of a pantograph arm which then controlled the movement of the animation stand compound table. This translated into animating the elements being photographed. In TBS motion guides are created using motion paths and motion points.
